The elephant which walks around the base of Wat Phnom, near the centre of Phnom Penh. This is apparently the last elephant in Phnom Penh, the ones at the palace having died during the Khmer Rouge regime.

A tiny spirit house outside Wat Phnom. You see these outside almost every building in Cambodia. But if the spirit house is inside the building, it's a Chinese building instead of a Khmer one.

Khorn drove us round Phnom Penh for a couple of days and showed us all the good places. Khorn drives a mid-90's Toyota Camry . Just about every other car in Cambodia is exactly the same type. Weird!

A street scene in Phnom Penh - this is the Monivong, the main boulevarde running north-south through the city. The main mode of transport is the 100cc Korean scooter ('moto'). You can get anywhere on one of these for about $US1.
